I don't like Katy Perry. I think her songs about homosexuality are ignorant and, while maybe well-intentioned, ultimately harmful. Therefore Rosie has knocked her over the head.
Also, I really don't like her "California Gurlz" video, what with the hyper-sexualized women and single, covered-up man. At least Lady Gaga has the audacity to make MEN sex objects. And, when she does, she points it out.
“There was an Old Man with a poker, Who painted his face with red ochre. When they said, ‘You’re a guy!’ he made no reply, But knocked them all down with his poker.” - Edward Lear

Hey there. This is a little something I did during finals in May, sort of an experiment in digital coloring. I learned a lot about needing to draw from life, and what NOT to do while coloring digitally. :D While this was a complete failure, I do think I salvaged something sorta decent from it:
Poster for a documentary called "Died Young Stayed Pretty" by Eileen Yaghoobian. Really frustrating project, as we're running into the end of the school year and I am running out of strength and patience. Eventually got it to where I wanted it and am quite satisfied.
Second image is the redo, with more watercolor in the background and a black border for clarity. Also changed the ink on the butterfly via Adobe Photoshop CS4 clone tool. Cropping may be slightly different, not sure. The typography is handmade, done with the inkdropper like the rest of the lines. Alphabet below.
This was the first attempt to finalize the "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" book cover. Too much black, not enough paper coming through. Weak composition. The professor asked me to redo it, which I thought he might do. Watercolor and ink. lines dones with inkdropper.
This is the redo, which I like a lot more aesthetically but didn't improve my grade much because it's lacking any sort of narrative quality. A learning experience! I am glad my professor took the time to discuss it with me and allow the redo. Graphite, watercolor, and ink. Lines done with inkdropper.
Some preliminary works for a "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" book cover. Working with india ink and watercolor in my Materials and Techniques class (MAT-TECH).
This will be my professional blog: a place I can showcase my sketches and completed illustrations. Hopefully, I will be able to look back on the work I post here and see improvement.
I am an illustration major at Savannah College of Art and Design, but I am also very interested in animation, concept art, and character design.
Well, as Wilbur Robinson would say, TO THE FUTURE!
